On August 27, 2008, Jesse Richards published a 15 point Remodernist Film Manifesto, calling for a "new spirituality in cinema", use of intuition in filmmaking, as well as describing the remodernist film as being a "stripped down, minimal, lyrical, punk kind of filmmaking". Point 4 is:
The Japanese ideas of wabi-sabi (the beauty of imperfection) and mono no aware (the awareness of the transience of things and the bittersweet feelings that accompany their passing), have the ability to show the truth of existence, and should always be considered when making the remodernist film.
There are also several polemic statements made in the manifesto that criticize Stanley Kubrick, filmmakers that shoot on digital video, as well as Dogme 95. In December, 2008, Turkish film magazine Bakiniz translated the manifesto into Turkish and soon after Polish magazine Red translated it into Polish.
Remodernist film calls for a return to emotional and spiritual meaning in cinema, as well as an emphasis on new ideas of narrative structure and subjectivity. Elements of No Wave Cinema, French New Wave, punk film, expressionist, spiritual and transcendental filmmaking, as well as Antonin Artaud's ideas on the Theatre of Cruelty helped lead to this new film movement. They champion the works of Andrei Tarkovsky, Yasujiro Ozu, Robert Bresson, Jean Rollin, Michelangelo Antonioni, Jean Vigo, Amos Poe, Jean Epstein and Nicholas Ray among others, as well as Bela Tarr's film Satantango and Jean-Luc Godard's Hail Mary...

"This photo of a nomadic father and his young daughter was taken in the heart of the Mongolian desert, a hundred miles from civilization. We were lucky enough to stay with this kind family while travelling through Mongolia, where every ger (portable tent) is a hotel/restaurant/information centre/doctor/auto-mechanic. They didn't have much but they did have a huge satellite dish to tune into their favorite sport - Japanese sumo wrestling - which they watched on a small TV powered by a rechargeable car battery (that was almost as big as the TV itself!). It was a very special experience and I love the juxtaposition in this photo of the humble home next to such a large symbol of modern technology."

Pani prezes: Czy to pan odpowiada za tę akcję?.
Dąbrowa: Tak, ja. Wspólnie z kierownikami redakcji, bo poinformowałem o niej na kolegium, nikt nie zaprotestował.
Pani prezes: Czy zatem bierze pan za nią odpowiedzialność?
Dąbrowa: Tak, oczywiście, biorę za nią odpowiedzialność.
Pani prezes: Aha, w związku z tym złamał pan zasady etyki.
Dąbrowa: Ośmielam się z panią prezes nie zgodzić. A o łamaniu zasad etyki w Polskim Radiu decyduje Komisja Etyki.
Pani prezes: W związku z tym wręczam panu odwołanie ze stanowiska".
Dąbrowa wyszedł z gabinetu pani prezes ok. 15:30. Ostatni raz hymn polski Jedynka nadała o godz. 15:00. O 17:00 już nie. Następcy Dąbrowy pani prezes kazała zdjąć z anteny "Mazurka Dąbrowskiego"...
There is no easy way to say this . Our mighty, noble friend Lemmy passed away today after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer. He had learnt of the disease on December 26th, and was at home, sitting in front of his favorite video game from The Rainbow which had recently made its way down the street, with his family.
We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness, there arent words.
We will say more in the coming days, but for now, please play Motörhead loud, play Hawkwind loud, play Lemmys music LOUD.

Martial law in Poland (Polish: Stan wojenny w Polsce) refers to the period of time from December 13, 1981 to July 22, 1983, when the authoritarian communist government of the People's Republic of Poland drastically restricted normal life by introducing martial law in an attempt to crush political opposition. Thousands of opposition activists were jailed without charge and as many as 100 killed. Although martial law was lifted in 1983, many of the political prisoners were not released until a general amnesty in 1986...
Banksy has revealed a new artwork, sprayed on a wall in the Calais refugee camp called “the Jungle”, intended to address negative attitudes towards the thousands of people living there.
The work depicts the late Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple, with a black bin bag thrown over one shoulder and an original Apple computer in his hand. The work is a pointed reference to Jobs’s background as the son of a Syrian migrant who went to America after the second world war.
In a rare statement accompanying the work, Banksy said: “We’re often led to believe migration is a drain on the country’s resources but Steve Jobs was the son of a Syrian migrant. Apple is the world’s most profitable company, it pays over $7bn (£4.6bn) a year in taxes – and it only exists because they allowed in a young man from Homs.”
The graffiti is one of a series of works Banksy has created in response to the refugee crisis. During his trip to Calais, the artist covered several walls across the French port with related graffiti, including a riff on Theodore Gericault’s Raft of the Medusa, featuring a luxury yacht.
This summer, his temporary “bemusement” park in Weston-Super-Mare featured an installation of boats filled with bodies. On the closing night of Dismaland, Banksy also invited Pussy Riot to debut their song criticising the global failure to help the migrants entering Europe.
Since the park closed in September, the artist has been shipping leftover infrastructure from Dismaland to help build emergency housing for the 7,000 migrants, mainly from Syria, Eritrea and Afghanistan, now living on the site of a former rubbish tip in Calais.
The “Dismal aid” project has seen site crew from the theme park build accommodation, community buildings and a children’s play area in the camp...
