i was planning on organising a cinema evening on thursday, 15th.. due to what happened on saturday in smolensk, it has to be postponed.. so on thursday, 22nd i'd like to introduce you to a double feature: 'the painted veil' and 'balzac and the little chinese seamstress'.. the common denominator is going to be china.. there are also a couple of questions arising: can people get a real picture of distant countries/lands from films? is it just a brief brush with different cultures, which resembles visiting an art gallery and looking at paintings? or is it perhaps something in between?

 

at present poland is in mourning and everything you switch on or look at is dealing with the plane crash.. my sis's just sent me the below link:

micheal moss tried to convince me today that the tragedy was not accidental.. i dismissed his arguments.. but having read the article, i'm giving second thought to his theory..
