this quote from ‘zorba the greek’ by kazantzakis seems to be the absolute opposite of the new testament principle to turn the other cheek..

 

nikos kazantzakis wrote two famous books of which you’ve heard of now: ‘zorba the greek’ and ‘the last temptation of christ’.. i recommend them to you as well as their film adaptations since i believe they’re food for thought of decent quality.. i've also accustomed you to two of kieslowski's top achievements ‘przypadek’ and 'gadajace glowy'..

 

deliberately, accidentally or perhaps coincidentally, there's a string that ties these films together.. being somewhere sometime or being somewhere else at that very time can make a hell of difference.. but usually we don’t know about that and 'what would've happened if?' is the subject of speculation only.. hitchcock’s ‘north by northwest’ brings involuntary involvement into focus...
